Our goal at B&B Ireland is to make your walking holiday in Ireland a most enjoyable and memorable experience. That is why we have divided our Linear walks into three main grades – easy, moderate and strenuous. By choosing a walk at a grade to suit your fitness level and indeed your preferred type of walk, you can ensure that we will have the Walkers Welcome activity break package to suit you.
A relaxed walking experience with plenty of time allowed to enjoy the sights along the route. Easy walks are usually on well maintained low level paths clearly signposted. Our easy linear walks are perfect for beginners or those who just like to enjoy a slow paced walk in Ireland. The distances each day can vary but no more than 2 or 3 hours. You can choose the length of walks in some cases and on some days there may be small hills but nothing too difficult. Great for those with basic fitness levels.
Our moderate linear walks are great for those who walk on a regular basis, but if you have a moderate level of fitness, these walks will suit you. Some walks are more of a challenge than others, but managebale. The trails will vary and may include some rougher rugged paths.
These walks will include ascending and decending of hills, so a reasonable fitness level is required. You can choose from a selection of durations for your moderate walk bearing in mind most are 3 hours or more. The strenuous linear walks are definitely for the more experienced walker or those with a good fitness level. These walks can take a full day and require a longer holiday duration. Challenging underfoot in places with rough terrain, longer walks up and down steep hills. Strenuous linear walks are suitable for experienced walkers who like a challenge. Some of the more strenuous walks may require navigation and/or mountaineering skills. A good level of fitness is required.
