There are so many walking loops  in Galway that you will be spoiled for choice!  The Ardnageeha Loop, a relatively easy Coillte Recreation trail overlooking Lough Corrib, is the perfect option for beginners. It will take you through a wide variety of wonderful woodlands and habitats, such as the lake edge and the wet areas of the forest. However, the more strenuous linear trail of Diamond Hill is suited to skilled walkers. This Connemara trail provides some of the most demanding, yet exhilarating hill walking in the whole of Ireland. Connemara National Park’s visitor centre is the perfect place to begin your adventurous hike up Diamond Hill, all 7km of it!

While these two trails are, without doubt, brilliant options, the historical trail of Monivea, the moderate walkway of Village Way and the buggy and wheelchair friendly path of Portumna Forest Park must also be taken into consideration.
